National Seminar on “Teaching Role of Librarians” and Technology Exhibition in Kerala Agricultural University during 21-22 August 2015

The Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Thrissur, in association with the Academic Library Association (ALA) and Kerala Library Association (KAL), is organizing a National Seminar on “Teaching Role of Librarians” and Technology Exhibition during 21-22 August 2015.  Collaboration of the Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) is also expecting in this seminar and exhibition. 

Qualified librarians, library education teachers and library science students can participate.  Interested professionals can register upto 10^th August.  Registration is free and working lunch will be provided.

 

Expenses towards accommodation and travel should be met by participants. Participants from outside Kerala will provide rent free accommodation on first come first serve basis, subject to the availability. 

 

Towards this, the participants should submit by e-mail at the time of registration a copy of an undertaking from the head of the institution stating that the staff/student will be deputed/permitted to attend the seminar. Unemployed participants may produce this certificate signed by themselves.

Free NET Coaching in Library & Information Science and One Day NET Guidance Workshop on 11th July 2015 in Thrissur

The Academic Library Association (ALA) and Kerala Library Association (KLA) are jointly organizing Free NET Coaching in Library & Information Science for the December 2015 Examination.  Classes will be held in Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) Central Library, Vellanikkara, Thrissur, during Sundays and holidays.

 The classes will start on 11^th July 2015, 2^nd Saturday.

One Day NET Guidance Workshop is also organised on 11^th July 2015, 2^nd Saturday at 10.30 am-4.30 pm for students in all subjects at KAU

This is the 5^th Coaching Programme conducted in Thrissur, the 1^st one was held in KAU and the 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th in St. Thomas College, Thrissur.

A good number of students have already cleared NET through this coaching. The following nine students have qualified in the examination held during December 2014 itself:

National Workshop on D-Space at KAU, Thrissur 27-28 March 2015

The Kerala Agricultural University, in collaboration with Academic Library Association is organising a Two Day National Workshop on Digital Library Management using D-Space in its Central Library at Main Campus, Thrissur during 27-28 March 2015. Only 40 professionals will be admitted.

No Registration fee

Expenses for food (Maximum Rs. 400/-), accommodation and travel should be borne by the participants. ?Subsidized accommodation can be provided at University Guest House.

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING THALASSERY CENTRAL LIBRARY 3 Days National Level Workshop on Research ethics, Academic writing and data analysis, March 06 – 08, 2015

Workshop content During the three days of the workshop, the participants will be given knowledge in research ethics, and

the tools used in Academic writing. Hands on training sessions will be given on the use of various literature

search tools. Final two days will be meant for SPSS training. SPSS is statistical software suitable for data analysis.
