Kerala Library Association, in collaboration with the Department of Library & Information Science (DLIS), University of Kerala, is organizing a Workshop on ‘Influential Communication’ for LIS Students and Young Professionals on 29th August 2014 at the DLIS Hall, Thiruvananthapuram.
There is a constant need to check one’s current practices in communication, be it on formal or informal grounds. Behavioral and functional training interventions to a large extent help a team to acquire a set of best practices that enables them to re-assure self worth, mutual value, trust and respect in an organization.
Objective: To enable students and young Professionals to present themselves in public with confidence.
Modules
Interpersonal Relations: Building and maintaining rapport by applying emotional intelligence at all occasions
Effective ‘speaking skills’: Role of body language and posture, voice and tone in making or breaking your public speaking skills Social and Personal etiquette: Acceptable code of conduct.
Personal grooming: Carry yourself well on all occasions and power dressing.
Who can participate: LIS Students, Scholars and Working Library Professionals
